Water Policies and Procedures

This document is an update to the TADWID Water Policy and Procedures originally released on September 25, 2008, and revised on March 15, 2011, November 1, 2014, July 1, 2015, November 1, 2017, and March 3, 2018.  It outlines various billing procedures, delinquency procedures, and fees of the District.

Billings for water service come in the form of mailings and/or E-mails and are sent to account holders bi-monthly. Bills are sent early in January, March, May, July, September, and November. The charges are for water service during the prior two months. Payment is due when bill is received. After 30 days, if payment is not received, a late fee will be assessed. Further, if no payment has been made, or satisfactorily arranged to be made, within 45 days of the billing date, service shut-off may occur. A notice of delinquency stating these penalties will be sent to the account holder as soon as it is determined that payment is late. A copy of said notice will also be placed on the property.  If shut-off occurs, the meter will be locked until payment has been made or payments arranged.  A service charge will be assessed before water service is restored. 

In the event that a check is returned by a bank, a fee will be charged by TADWID and a notification will be sent to the account holder indicating that the total amount owed must be paid, or satisfactory payment arrangements made, within 10 days of the letter.  Payments must be made by cashier’s check, money order, or online payment via this website. If settlement is not made satisfactorily, water service will be discontinued and the meter locked and an additional fee will be charged for restoration of service.

0 to 5,000 Gallons   $65.00, plus municipal and state sales taxes

5,001 to 20,000 Gallons  $2.75 per 1,000 gallons used

20,001 to 60,000 Gallons $3.75 per 1,000 gallons used

60,001 Gallons and Higher  $7.50 per 1,000 gallons use

It is our desire to continue to provide a quality product at a reasonable price, and to do this we need your help. It is recommended that if you are going to be away for a considerable amount of time, you turn your water service off at your meter. This will prevent you from accumulating a large water bill if there is a water leak that goes unnoticed on your side of the meter. We at TADWID are not responsible for any water usage beyond the water meter; however, we do the neighborly thing, keeping our eye out for any discrepancies, and report those to the property owner.
